The Artist’s Way

Class Description

Denise Maidment

This course, based on the iconic book, The Artist’s Way, is offered for those with an interest in the process of discovering or recovering their creative self and how it can impact all areas of life. For some, that inner creativity could be getting in touch with their artistic side, while for others it might look like being more creative in their personal or work life. The tools of the program are practical, straightforward, inspiring and easy to implement. There will be Morning Pages (three pages of stream-of-consciousness writing daily), The Artist Date (a dedicated block of time to nurture your inner artist), and weekly chapter discussions within a supportive environment. You do not have to call yourself an “artist” to enjoy a creative life! This class will be very interactive and students can share their own ideas and experiences. Students are required to purchase a copy of The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. Please read the first chapter before the first class. Facilitator Denise has been a follower of Cameron for over three decades.

Eight, 1.5-hour sessions: Tuesdays, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Begins January 23, 2024. Nock Middle School.
Cost: $220. Class Limit: 10. There will be a make-up day.
