Newburyport Adult & Community Education

Contemplative Photography

Class Description

Finding Stillness—Ingrid Cyros will bring you into the fall by demonstrating and discussing ways for participants to integrate photography and journal-keeping by taking/using pictures and writing to deepen the way of seeing the world. This practice can be used as a creative way to document a story, to process loss or honor/celebrate a particular experience. Instruction will include prompts, quotes, and poetry to inspire photographic exploration. Emphasis will be on the process rather than the technical aspects of photography. While participants are encouraged to bring a camera (iPhone is sufficient) photographs will be provided for in-class instructions, and participants will take photos between sessions. The class will be encouraged to share their work and will complete a photo journal by the end of the

3-week session. Please bring an unused journal to class.
Three, 2-hour sessions: Tuesdays, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Begins Oct. 13, 2020. Via Zoom platform.
Cost: $100. Class limit: 8.
