Description
Margarita Mejía, MFA
This four-week multidisciplinary course blends writing and photos to explore family history in creative, non-traditional ways. Participants will use images from their family albums as narrative documents—sources of memory, inquiry, and inspiration—to craft original short stories about their lives and ancestors. Through weekly guided prompts, participants will write, reflect, and share their stories in a supportive and welcoming environment. The class will emphasize creative exploration from fresh perspectives, personal discovery, and honoring family history and lineage in meaningful ways. No writing or photography experience is required. Margarita is a poet and photographer and brings a warm interdisciplinary approach to guiding participants through this enriching journey. She recently moved to Newburyport and has also lived and worked in Colombia and Texas.
