Jana Harris
This is a guided mushroom walk for all those interested in discovering the various fungi. You will have a chance to learn what is needed to properly ID mushrooms and how fungi reproduce. Ghost Trail features ferns, pink lady slippers, hardwood trees and deep woods. The leader of this guided walking tour will be Jana Harris of Essex Forays, certified in Wild Mushroom Food Safety and member of Boston Mycological Club. Participants will get up close and personal with mushroom species that thrive during the period of spring months in New England.
- Depending upon the weather, there will be different types of mushrooms to explore.
- Please wear sturdy shoes, bring a water bottle, tick and bug repellent, ID field guide and basket (optional).
- Must be in good physical health and feel comfortable walking on uneven terrain on hiking trails.
One, 2-hour class. Saturday, May 18, 2024. 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Location: Salisbury Ghost Trail. Bartlett Street Trailhead:
- From I-95 South head East on Route 110 (Elm Street).
- Turn left at the Dairy Queen onto Bartlett Street.
- Pull off Bartlett Street at the trail crossing parking area.
- Look for Essex Forays Sign.
