English SAT Prep

Class Description

Open to ALL area high school students! You do not need to live in Newburyport.

Prepare now for the SAT Test that will be held on March 8, 2025. REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR TAKING THE TEST: February 21, 2025.

  • The cost per student per course is $280 or $530 for both Math and English courses.
    • The fee includes a study book.
  • All classes will run for 6 weeks from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
    • at Newburyport High School, 241 High Street.
  • When registering online, you must enter the student’s name in the NOTES section.
  • Classes are not held during February school vacation week.

ENGLISH—The first class will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025.
ALL subsequent classes will be held on Mondays: Jan 27,
Feb 3, Feb 10, Feb 24, and Mar 3. NO class 2/17.
NHS English teacher Katie Michko. Room 303.
Minimum number of students per class: 8. Maximum: 12.

  • Anyone from the Greater Newburyport community is welcome to participate as a student or to become a teacher!
  • Most classes are also available to teens 15 years and over.
  1. If a class is cancelled, a refund or voucher will be given.
  2. Refunds are not given on the day class begins or after a class begins.
  3. If notice of class withdrawal is made within three (3) days prior to the class start date, there is no refund.
  4. In order to receive a refund or class voucher, students must give notice of withdrawal at least 4 days prior to class start date. If you choose a voucher, it may be used anytime for any class and has no expiration date.
  • If, for any reason, the Newburyport schools are closed or cancelled (ie. inclement weather)… GNACE classes will also be cancelled.
  • Check the Website, Facebook, Instagram, or call (978) 992-8060 for class cancellation updates.
  • If a class is canceled, a make-up day will be coordinated with the instructor and students.
  • We do not send registration confirmations. We only contact you if your class is cancelled or full.
  1. To participate you need only basic computer literacy. Primarily the skills required: download, email, word processing, and printing.
  2. You will need to download Zoom onto your computer HERE. And to test your system, Zoom offers a test site HERE.
  3. Here are some instructions on how-to join a meeting with special instructions for Mac and Windows computers.
  4. Please email us and someone will get back to you to discuss the details.
  5. Lastly, we have compiled some guidelines for STUDENTS & INSTRUCTORS.
