Archery: An Introductory Course

Class Description

This course is family-friendly (kids 12+). This four-week class will introduce the beginner to the basics of archery including how to safely handle the equipment and to use proper shooting form, understanding the mental aspects of archery, and learning tournament rules and scoring. You must be able to attend the first class but if you miss weeks two, three, or four, there are some make-up class options. Donna Ricci, Psy.D. founded Archers Artemis in 2015. She received her USA Archery Level 4 National Coach qualifications at the Olympic Training Center in California in 2017. For questions, email dricci@archersartemis.com.

Four 1-hour classes, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Sundays, September 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2024.
Cost $155. Class Limit: 12. Location: Archers Artemis, 10 Industrial Way, Amesbury.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes early to be fitted for equipment.

  • Parking is in the last lot at the end of the road.

  • Please go past where you see the archery targets on the left, up to the stone wall and then take a right.

  • That is the only lot where students may park.

Archery: An Introductory Course

Greater Newburyport Adult & Community Education (GNACE) is a completely self-sustaining program that is funded primarily from class fees, grants, and private donations. While we operate under the auspices of the Newburyport Public Schools, GNACE receives no public funding from the City of Newburyport or school system.   • Anyone from the Greater Newburyport community is welcome to participate as a student or to become a teacher!
  • Most classes are also available to teens 15 years and over.
  1. If a class is cancelled, a refund or voucher will be given.
  2. Refunds are not given on the day class begins or after a class begins.
  3. If notice of class withdrawal is made within three (3) days prior to the class start date, there is no refund.
  4. In order to receive a refund or class voucher, students must give notice of withdrawal at least 4 days prior to class start date. If you choose a voucher, it may be used anytime for any class and has no expiration date.
  • If, for any reason, the Newburyport schools are closed or cancelled (ie. inclement weather)… GNACE classes will also be cancelled.
  • Check the Website, Facebook, Instagram, or call (978) 992-8060 for class cancellation updates.
  • If a class is canceled, a make-up day will be coordinated with the instructor and students.
  • We do not send registration confirmations. We only contact you if your class is cancelled or full.
  1. To participate you need only basic computer literacy. Primarily the skills required: download, email, word processing, and printing.
  2. You will need to download Zoom onto your computer HERE. And to test your system, Zoom offers a test site HERE.
  3. Here are some instructions on how-to join a meeting with special instructions for Mac and Windows computers.
  4. Please email us and someone will get back to you to discuss the details.
