Step into the rhythmic world of tap dance with this engaging class designed for both beginners and intermediate dancers. Whether you’re taking your very first steps or looking to refine your skills, our instructor will guide you through a journey of sound and movement. Beginner students will learn the fundamentals of tap dancing, from mastering basic steps to understanding the importance of rhythm and timing. If you are an intermediate tap dancer, you will be able to enhance your skills and build upon the foundation you’ve already developed. The class will focus on fostering a supportive and fun environment through the Art of Tap. Whether you’re a complete novice or seeking to step up your tap skills, our class is the perfect opportunity to tap into your passion for dance. Join us and let your feet create music.
Dance shoes may be purchased at On Your Toes in Danvers, MA:

Six, 1-hour classes: Wednesdays, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Begins January 31, 2024. Newburyport High School Dance Studio*.
Cost: $155. Class Limit: 10.

DANCE STUDIO PARKING— If you are facing the front of high school, park in the lot to the rear right side of the building. You’ll enter the school’s circle driveway off Toppans Lane and then take an immediate right into the large parking lot. Enter through the SIDE DOOR with the overhang/portico that faces the parking area. There will be an entrance sign on the door. Upon entry, Room #35 Aerobic Room is on the right. Please allow time for parking so class can begin on time. There is NO entry from the school’s main entrance.




Tap Dancing

Newburyport Adult & Community Education (NACE) is a completely self-sustaining program that is funded primarily from class fees, grants, and private donations. While we operate under the auspices of the Newburyport Public Schools, NACE receives no public funding from the City of Newburyport or school system. Show your support for lifelong learning by making a tax-deductible donation to NACE and ensure that we can continue to offer valuable programming to the greater Newburyport community.

  • Most classes are also available to teens 15 years and over.
  1. There are NO REFUNDS given unless a class is canceled.
  2. There are NO REFUNDS given on the day class begins.
  3. There are NO REFUNDS given after a class begins.
  4. There are NO REFUNDS given if a student withdraws within three (3) days prior to class start date.
  5. In order to receive a refund or class voucher, students must give notice of withdrawal at least 4 days prior to class start date. Vouchers may be used anytime for any class and have no expiration date.

  • If, for any reason, the Newburyport schools are closed or cancelled (ie. inclement weather)… Adult Ed classes will also be cancelled.

  • In the case of a class cancellation, you may choose a credit voucher which can be used for any class at any time, or a refund.
  • We do not send registration confirmations. We only contact you if your class is cancelled or full.
