Class Description
Chris Martel
Are you intrigued about how NASA captures and processes those iconic images taken by the James Webb and the Hubble Space Telescopes? Do you want to take your own images of space? This fascinating class has expanded to two nights, with the second class moving outdoors (weather permitting) offering a hands-on experience and demonstration on how to photograph space from your backyard! Chris will share his photos and show participants what’s needed to begin capturing their own images, beginning with a simple digital camera and building to small telescopes. Students will also learn how to use their cameras and free software to process images from the night sky. Chris has a PhD in Physics and has taught at several major universities. He has been an avid amateur astronomer his entire life and an astrophotographer for the past 15 years.
