Pysanky: Ukrainian Egg Deccorating

Let’s make Pysanky! Eliza Goodell has over twenty years of experience creating beautiful Ukrainian Easter Eggs. This ancient art form ties together faith, spirituality, and unexpected beauty. Participants will learn how to decorate eggs using a stylus, beeswax, and dyes. Beginners are welcome and no prior artistic talent is needed. This workshop is for adults. All materials are provided. Wear comfortable clothing and bring an apron if you wish. The class will begin with a demonstration and participants will leave having made 1-2 eggs. Students are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch for a 30-minute lunch break. Materials fee of $20 is payable to the instructor on 3/29.

One 5-hour session: Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
March 29, 2025. Amesbury Friends Meeting House, 120 Friend Street, Amesbury.
Cost $85. Class Limit: 10. *Please bring $20 cash or check to the teacher on the day of class for materials fee.

  • Anyone from the Greater Newburyport community is welcome to participate as a student or to become a teacher!
  • Most classes are also available to teens 15 years and over.
  1. If a class is cancelled, a refund or voucher will be given.
  2. Refunds are not given on the day class begins or after a class begins.
  3. If notice of class withdrawal is made within three (3) days prior to the class start date, there is no refund.
  4. In order to receive a refund or class voucher, students must give notice of withdrawal at least 4 days prior to class start date. If you choose a voucher, it may be used anytime for any class and has no expiration date.
  • If, for any reason, the Newburyport schools are closed or cancelled (ie. inclement weather)… GNACE classes will also be cancelled.
  • Check the Website, Facebook, Instagram, or call (978) 992-8060 for class cancellation updates.
  • If a class is canceled, a make-up day will be coordinated with the instructor and students.
  • We do not send registration confirmations. We only contact you if your class is cancelled or full.
  1. To participate you need only basic computer literacy. Primarily the skills required: download, email, word processing, and printing.
  2. You will need to download Zoom onto your computer HERE. And to test your system, Zoom offers a test site HERE.
  3. Here are some instructions on how-to join a meeting with special instructions for Mac and Windows computers.
  4. Please email us and someone will get back to you to discuss the details.
  5. Lastly, we have compiled some guidelines for STUDENTS & INSTRUCTORS.
