Women Writing Through Transition

Class Description

Join Diane B. Forman, writer, teacher, author—Are you an empty nester? Were you recently divorced or widowed? Have you had to leave a job or take a different job? Are you dealing with illness in yourself or a loved one? Caregiving for elderly parents? These transitions and changes are often challenging, and writing can provide healing and clarification. In this workshop, you will find a safe and supportive environment to write. Whether you are a brand-new writer or a seasoned professional, the AWA (Amherst Writers and Artist) method will give you an opportunity to write several times in every session. Because this is “new work”, just created and not edited or refined, it will come most directly from the heart. Everything we share is treated as fiction, and the focus always stays on the craft of writing. Come with a notebook and pen, or a laptop, and get ready to write!

Three, 2-hour sessions: Wednesdays, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Begins October 9, 2019. Nock Middle School.
Cost: $85. Class limit: 10.
