Sean, was an early bitcoin and crypto investor, and offers this class for those new to the subject. In this course you will learn everything you need to know about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Learn what Bitcoin is and how it works. How to earn interest on your holdings, and which exchanges and brokers are best. Learn about safe storage and security, the benefits of mobile wallets, cold wallets, and custodial wal-lets. Layer 2 solutions like using the Lightning Network to pay for goods or send money to a friend instantly. Learn about stable coins as well as options for running a node and/or mining. Sean has investing, buying, selling, and trading in this new asset class for over 6 years and has used just about every exchange, knows the ins and outs of every popular wallet, and through his experience, he can answer any crypto question that you have and help you get on track to achieving your crypto goals. Recommended to bring your phone or laptop to class.

One, 2-hour session: Wednesday, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Runs May 11, 2022. Newburyport High School.
Cost: $60.


Newburyport Adult and Community Education (NACE) is a self-supporting program. It is under the auspices of the Newburyport Public School System. Its budget is funded primarily from course fees. Additional funding has been made available from the Newburyport Five-Cent Savings Bank. NACE is available to everyone. Most classes are available to high school students (age 15 & over).

Keep in mind:

  1. We don’t send confirmations — we only contact you if your class is NOT going to run.
  2. We don’t cash checks immediately. We hold them until we are certain a class will run.
  3. No refunds are given after a course begins.
  4. If you need to contact us, e-mail is the best way!
  5. Use the Website to get immediate answers and to check for any changes to your class.
  6. We offer three regular sessions annually: fall, winter & spring and short session in summer (4 weeks).

If the Newburyport schools are cancelled, Adult Ed Classes will NOT be CANCELLED unless it is a non-virtual class.

NO REFUNDS are given after a course begins. In order to receive a refund, students must withdraw at least two weeks prior to the first class. In case of cancellation of class, a full refund will be issued.

  1. If you withdraw your enrollment for an online course prior to (3) business days (Monday-Friday) of the courses’ starting time, we will offer you a refund, minus a $5 processing fee.
  2. Should you elect to receive a course credit, the $5 processing fee will be waived.
  3. Once the class has started, there will be no refund.
  4. Respectfully, we ask you to test out your online platform in advance as we will not be offering refunds for last minute technical difficulties.
