Lora Sasiela
Go to a forest. Walk slowly. Breathe. Open all your senses. This is the healing way of forest bathing, known as Shinrin-Yoku, which originated in Japan in the 1980s and has become a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine. Join us for a gentle, slow, serene walk in Maudslay State Park. After some brief history of forest bathing and education on the benefits of this practice, we’ll engage in mindfulness meditation, the practice of silence to enhance the senses and inner reflection as we walk through the woods. The walk is about two hours, and then attendees are invited to stay for a cup of healing tea and conversation as we end our time together. Please wear long pants and comfortable walking shoes. Must be in good physical health and feel comfortable walking on uneven terrain on hiking trails. Lora Sasiela has been working with the transformative power of plant medicines for over a decade. She is a healer, wellness educator and author. New to Newburyport, she is excited to share the beauty of forest bathing with the community.
