Class Description

Radical Spirituality & Radical Pokitics

Once again Marian Levy will lead a class on the immeasurable gifts of knowledgeable women. From Victoria Wood-hull and Emma Goldman to Angela Davis and Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, class discussions will be guided by readings that provide a brief overview of major issues in American radicalism in relation to Women’s Liberation. Continuity, or lack thereof, with feminism and other movements of today will be thoughtfully considered, as well as the role of the visionary in American radicalism, from witchcraft and spiritualism to the prophetic imagination generally.

Four, 1.5-hour sessions: Tuesdays, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. – noon.

Marian Leighton Levy—co-founder of Rounder Records, which began as a political and counter cultural collective. She has long been involved in activist politics, focusing on the American radical tradition.
